The South Coast Interfaith Council and the Southern California Committee for a Parliament of the World’s Religions
invite youth leaders,young adults and teens
from different faith traditions
to pull together for interfaith understanding
Sail in harmony with the wind and waves
aboard LAMI’s twin tall ships for a real-life adventure in genuine cooperation!
Everyone is needed to raise and trim the sails, set and steer our course;
some may climb the rigging and work aloft…

Directions: From 110-Harbor Freeway or 710 to cross Terminal Island, over Vincent Thomas Bridge.
Take Harbor Blvd. Exit, stay right and turn right at light onto Harbor Blvd.
Proceed to turn left at light at foot of 6th St. over tracks, then Right at LA Maritime Museum.
At signs for ‘Ports O’ Call Village’ turn Left, to open lot by Berth 78, sign on posts in parking lot.
Go down right walkway, thru gate and down ramp to floating dock to board ship before noon.

June 6-10: Globalization for the Common Good Conference on “In Search of a Virtuous Economy” to take place at California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks CA. 91360. Details TBA.
SCCPWR is co-sponsoroing SCIC's Interfaith Cafés--small group discussions for laity, youth (9th - 12th graders) and religious leaders about how faith both impacts their daily lives and allows them to relate to and appreciate those from other faith traditions. Due to popular demand, there will be four SCIC Interfaith Cafes this summer!

| Our keynote speaker: Rosemary Reuther, Eco-Feminist, Scholar and Peace Activist |
Rosemary Radford Ruether holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Scripps College (1958), an M.A. in Ancient History (1960) and a Ph.D. in Classics and Patristics (1965) from Claremont Graduate School in Claremont, California.
She currently is Visiting Professor of Feminist Theology at Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University. She formerly was Carpenter Professor of Feminist Theology at the Pacific School of Religion and Graduate Theological Union, and also taught at the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. Ruether is the author of many books on feminism, the Bible and Christianity.
She has for thirty years been considered a pioneer in the area of feminist theology in North America, with a particular focus on gender, ecology,social justice isues,and liberation theology, especially in Palestine and Latin America. She has also been an outspoken critic of war since the Vietnam era and continues this work today. (from Wikipedia)
In 2004 she and her family attended the Parliament of the World's Religions in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Reuther is deeply committed to interfaith work and peacemaking.
